IPRAHome: International Pregnancy Research Alliance (IPRA)

The International Pregnancy Research Alliance (IPRA) is a research centre based in Chongqing Medical University in Western China which will bring together and foster collaboration between researchers from China, Canada and New Zealand.

Membership of the alliance enables researchers from Gravida and the University of Auckland in New Zealand, the University of Alberta in Canada and the First Affiliated Hospital at Chongqing Medical University to access the Chongqing research facilities and come together to undertake research on ways to prevent or treat women with pregnancy complications, such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and premature birth.

The centre is led by Professor Philip Baker (Liggins Institute, the University of Auckland, New Zealand), the director of Gravida: National Centre for Growth and Development in New Zealand and a Chinese National Distinguished Professor.
